Playlist 3/1/13

Welcome to Out of the Woods, a 3-hour program of mostly acoustic music which airs live every Friday from 6 to 9 pm e.s.t. locally, and is syndicated on The Global Voice, a station run primarily by blind program hosts, and aimed at bringing together the blind and sighted communities, http://www.theglobalvoice.info - Sundays at 4 pm e.s.t.,  (repeating at 10 pm on Mondays),  early Sunday mornings on BOB-FM, on Itunes, Shoutcast, Tunein and webradiocentral.com, at 6 am e.s.t., and also Boston Free Radio, http://bostonfreeradio.com/, Sunday at 7 am e.s.t. The show can also be heard on the airwaves on PineKONE Radio, 100.9 FM, Pine Mountain Club & Bakersfield, CA, Sundays and Wednesdays at 8:30 pm Pacific.

Tonight was fun and interesting as we welcomed the acoustic trio Sol & Kiel into the studio to perform live for us.  Sol & Kiel are Michael Harrist, Tobey LaRoche, and Jesse Hanson, all outstanding young musicians.  They brought along a wide array of instruments including a piano and some things I cannot pronounce aside from the usual guitars, fiddles, double bass, cello (the list goes on).  Be sure to visit the Out of the Woods pages on facebook to see the photos of how we were able to cram a piano into the WSCS studio!  Jesse Hanson also just released her debut solo CD, and she performed a song of her own as well. I had a list of songs performed, but I forgot it at WSCS. They played about 6 songs total including 'Heyohka', 'Morning Light', 'Reverie', and 'Circles'.  Here's the show:
